Where is Saija located?

The location of Saija Saija is located in Eastern Lapland, which is 40 kilometres to the north of Salla near the border of the county of Savukoski. In 1993 the Environmental council decided to make the village listed. The Aatsinki river meets the Kuolajoki river and unites with Tenniö river. The Maltio river also joins the Tenniö river. The Ridge Kolsanharju, which goes from the northwest to the southeast, dividing the village into two sections. Above the centre of the village is the Sarivaara Hill. The Devious rivers meander through the ridges and the hills which represents a symbol of the county.
